Lujiazui Skyline Overview

A comprehensive guide to Lujiazui, Shanghai's financial district and home to the world-famous "Three Musketeers" skyscrapers.

Lujiazui is Shanghai's premier financial district and the centerpiece of Pudong's modern skyline. Located on the east bank of the Huangpu River directly across from the historic Bund, it houses China's tallest buildings and most prestigious financial institutions. The area has transformed from farmland in the 1990s into a symbol of China's economic rise.

The "Three Musketeers" of Lujiazui are the Shanghai Tower (632m, China's tallest building), the Shanghai World Financial Center (492m, nicknamed the "bottle opener" due to its unique aperture), and the Jin Mao Tower (421m, inspired by traditional Chinese pagoda architecture). Together, these skyscrapers create one of the most iconic skylines in the world.

Beyond the skyscrapers, Lujiazui offers world-class shopping at IFC and Super Brand Mall, luxury dining, and the scenic Lujiazui Central Green Park. At night, the district transforms with spectacular light shows that illuminate the futuristic skyline.

Recommended Tour Route

Start your Lujiazui tour at Lujiazui Central Green Park, a peaceful green space offering unobstructed views of the Bund and skyscrapers. From here, visit the three main observation decks: the Shanghai Tower (118th-119th floors, world's highest observation deck), the Shanghai World Financial Center (94th-100th floors, famous for its "bottle opener" design), and the Jin Mao Tower (88th floor, pagoda-inspired architecture).

After enjoying the panoramic views, explore Shanghai IFC Mall for luxury shopping and dining, or visit Super Brand Mall for a wide variety of stores and restaurants. End your day with a stroll along the Huangpu River waterfront promenade for stunning views of the Bund at sunset.

The images on the right show the heights and nicknames of the "Lujiazui Three-piece Set" (named for their shapes) and a popular photo-taking angle.
